Celtic Cavern

What a cool place! I love the atmosphere and they had so many good drinks. There is seating outside but we decided to dine in since it was nearly 90 degrees out. Wait staff was wicked friendly and attentive. It's the kind of place you want to be a local at. It's located at the bottom of the stairs so, "watch your step"!

Great service and Beer selection. I had the best meatloaf sandwich ever. Grilled cheese Meatloaf with fresh cut fries. Awesome. It made my eyes roll back into my head it was so good. Omg.

The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, workers hands over excellent customer service. I really like how neat it is and vibes. I highly recommend this place.

The service here was amazing. Huge drink selection and a fantastic menu. Had a great time. Waitstaff checked on us frequently but not in an obnoxious way. Would definitely go back.

Great draft beer selection and nice and cold. Large bar with comfortable seats. Plenty of TVs to watch the game. I didn't eat so I cant comment on the food. Will be back!

If you like craft beer and options, definitely check this place out. Very large selection, great service and decent pub food. Check it out if your in the area, there is plenty to do in the same location of Middletown.

Awesome food, Eric is a really great server. Everything is served fresh and tastes awesome. Good beer and wine selection. Atmosphere is somewhat loud, hard to hear my party but lighting is good and it has a great feel to it. I would suggest this place to my friends and family. Had a great time!

Definitely cavernous like it's name, but that's part of the charm. Relatively small place with a top notch tap list, which is always rotating. Usually go for beer but the food I've had has been fantastic. The staff is always super friendly and nice to have a conversation with.

My husband and I did the surf and turf for two on a Saturday night, along with 4 drinks. The place was packed....and for good reason. That surf and turf was amazing. Seriously, the steak alone was to die for. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat just for the steak.Oh, and I should add that staff was excellent. Overall a great and memorable experience. I dont even care that the overall bill was $150. It was totally worth it.

Love this place. Food is always delicious, beers are always changing and the chef is super friendly. Pork chop is by far one of the best around. Hummus is always something to get as it changes frequently.

Really liked this place. Great drinks and the apps were delicious. The only reason I cannot give them 5 stars is because of their gluten free options. They do keep the fryers gluten free and are good about labeling GF on their menu, which as a celiac I am very greatful for, but they have no GF rolls or bread so a sandwich or burger is out.

A great restaurant located behind Main St in Middletown. There is free parking available so don't stress. Even though Celtic is part of the name it's more German in nature. Cavern is appropriate and situated in a historic building in a basement, but not your typical basement. You need to either get there early or be patient for a table. It draws a very eclectic crowd of students and adults of all ages. They offer a wonderful menu and something for everyone. I ordered a cheeseburger and one of the best I have ever had. Great atmosphere and great quality food and service.

This place is awesome. Went in for dinner and some drinks. The fish special was delicious and the cider was also great. Our waitress was awesome! Would definitely go back here.

The food was delicious. We ordered the Burger and Cobb salad. It was amazing. Met a chef and he talked about how he prepared the bacon. AMAZING. I highly recommend it

Cool place. Packed on a Saturday but still great, attentive service and a very good drink selection. Prices seem to be well aligned with other nearby place although they are a bit high, the atmosphere and service definitely justify a premium.

Absolutely excellent. The food was beyond delicious. The prices were excellent. The service was phenomenal and staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Located in the heart of a beautiful and historic charming town. Definitely worth making the trip to visit if you are ever in Middletown, Connecticut.

This pub is a fabulous place. They are overwhelmingly friendly and have a flair for the patrons' enjoyment. With its great vibe, the spot also offer a wealth of comfort food and craft beers you'll be asking how they make them so good. The sausage soup was a real surprise and was so good I couldn't put down my spoon.

What a great place for food and drink!!The Celtic Cavern is aptly named, has a great pub feeling with an underground atmosphere, not underground like only the worthy are allowed, underground like you can escape life for a little while. Service was great as you servers are not assigned tables, everyone working makes sure every customer's food and drink needs are met. Beer selection was awesome, my wife and I both had the Stout on tap, delicious. I had the burger, while my wife had a cob salad with Chicken. We were both very pleased with our choices. My burger was hot, juicy, and flavorful. Note: the french fries that come with the burger are really, really good. We don't get into Middletown too often, but next time we do, we will stop here again.

The brussel sprouts are so freaking good! Also, as someone who has food allergies, the staff was on top of it. I really appreciate when people take that one little extra step to keep me safe. These guys rock!
